Financial analysis training to develop skills in assessing the performance of SOEs, key performance indicators and trends for the State Property Management Fund of the Kyrgyz Republic.

- The training programs included training staff to:
- understand the fundamentals of financial reporting, including how statements are interrelated and the key accounting principles that govern them
- analyze companies' balance sheets and evaluate their positions
- analyze companies' income statements and evaluate their performance
- analyze companies' cash flow statements; and identify the drivers of cash flows
- conduct ratio analysis and evaluate performance drivers
- interpret financial ratios (KPIs) and financial statements to make decisions about companies' performance and future goals
- The effectiveness of the training was enhanced by:
- developing case studies for each session that allowed participants to apply the skills learned during the course. Participants were given a company and prepared an assessment based on the annual report and other sources of information. Their analysis was financial and non-financial, including a summary of the company's position, performance, and other analysis.
- developing a template for analyzing financial statements at the individual company level using the KPI system adopted by the SPMF, and providing training to the SPMF on the use of the template with case studies
- developing a template for analyzing aggregated portfolio financial statements based on the KPI system adopted by the SPMF, and providing training to the SPMF on the use of the template with case studies
